When it comes to running a business the struggles to grow it are very real. There are many reasons why entrepreneurs run into the challenges they do; and interestingly enough, the challenges are pretty much the same when you do a quick search on the topic.
Whether you’ve talked to other entrepreneurs about your struggles or searched for solutions to your challenges, I’m sure you’ve come across the same articles I have, as well as the same conversations. The purpose of the content you’ll be reading here is to help you with the online marketing aspects of those entrepreneur struggles.
The information I’ll be sharing are from my experiences as an online marketer, things I’ve done for my own business and projects, for businesses I’ve worked with and solopreneurs or professionals I’ve consulted with or marketers I’ve shared experiences with.
The reason I chose to write about the topic is so that I could help you avoid getting overwhelmed by the vast amount of options that are available to you nowadays on the topic, but also to help you maintain focus on what is important: growing your brand, while using online marketing without losing your purpose, voice and focus.
I also want to help anyone with a purpose that aims to make a positive impact in the world to learn to use online marketing to spread the word and connect with those they’re trying to help. I’ve searched for a way to define this niche of people I’m talking about: passion driven entrepreneurs, change agents, inspirational leaders, motivational speakers, and so on. The reality is, there are too many labels; and none of them incorporate all the people I’m talking about. The only common denominator is their heart and not what they do as a profession necessarily.
So, while I try to identify a better way to reference these individuals, I thought I’d include a description of what I mean so that if they, you, happen to find this site, you’ll know it’s also meant for you.
As for what type of content you can expect I will start by saying this: to grow your business or spread a message, you need to connect with your audience, your community. The only way you’re going to do this is if you keep the heart of your business or purpose alive in the content you put out there. Whether it’s the content on your website, blog, social media posts, emails, and so on. The way you connect to others online and offline is through the words you use and what you share.
The content component of online marketing is one of the biggest challenges business owners, professionals or purpose driven people have when it’s time to get out there. The struggle is maintaining a genuine message while engaging with readers.
Another struggle is getting lost in the hype of what’s trending, in the need to sell, and in the insecurities of being yourself. These three things make business owners and anyone using online marketing forget their purpose and lose their unique voice.
Last on the list of struggles is time and patience. There’s not enough time to get everything done and no one wants to wait for things to play out, so they start believing there’s some magic trick that will help them get where they want to be faster. There is no magic trick with online marketing except for being true to your heart so that your message will resonate with those you’re talking to and being consistent in your presence online.
There are plenty of sources out there that talk about online marketing and I will share those sources in each post I write that are relevant and helpful to the topic at hand. I will keep it simple and as short as possible so that you are not overwhelmed by the information. I will also make it applicable for you so that you can walk away and take action based on what you just read.
I love feedback and it is essential if I am going to ensure I help you with my online marketing knowledge anyway I can. This site is for you, so please help me make it better for you. I plan on integrating other types of content like whitepapers and courses, but not yet. However, if there’s a specific online marketing topic you have in mind, please do share.
Thank you for stopping by and see you soon again!
